I am soo late on my invitations haha. I am ordering them tonight! How did you do your RSVP's? Did you put how many seats you reserved for your guests? I was thinking something along the lines of... Ex: We have reserved __ seats for you _ Accepts _Decline __ Number attending Name_____ Is this OK...

How did you do your RSVP's?

Did you put how many seats you reserved for your guests?

I was thinking something along the lines of...

Ex:

We have reserved __ seats for you

_ Accepts

_Decline

__ Number attending

Name_____

Is this OK etiquette wise?

This was my RSVP card. I filled out the number and the specific names of guests that were invited. Even if I put that we had reserved 2 seats for them, I still had people put 3 or 4 in the 'number attending' blank. I had people cross out the names of people I invited and put other people's names in. For example, If I invited John and Jane Doe, I had 2 people leave a note that says "John can't come but I'm bringing my friend Susan." People will do whatever they want no matter how simple you make it on them.

I really wanted to add an insert that said uninvited guests will not be accommodated but FH said that would be rude

So this may be a dumb question, but why are there different blanks for "joyfully accepts" and number attending"... aren't those the same thing?

I'm just writing the names of the people invited on the rsvp with Attending or Regrets. I don't want someone thinking they can fill the second seat with anyone. If they cross off a name and write someone else's there an idiot.

@M&M -- it's really just if there's 1 or more invited guests who aren't coming. (ie: just the husband and not the wife, or 2 out of a family of 3).

And I'm with everyone else -- definitely include number of seats!

ETA: @M&M oooh I see what you're saying.

I included the number of seats on the RSVP and they will have to RSVP via my wedding website so they won't be able to go in and change the names we have listed.

I wrote number of seats as I don't want anyone I didn't invite.

That's pretty much what we did.

"We have reserved ____ seat(s) in your honor.

___ accepts with pleasure ___ declines with regret

    ___ number attending

    M_____________________"

    Worked great.

We are doing the same thing but writing in the number of seats reserved. I know some on our guest list will take advantage and bring who knows who if we don't.

Following Smiley smile I really like the idea of letting them know how many seats they have reserved for them
