We did it! My husband and I got married on our original date May 30, 2020. We postponed our wedding and reception until June 12, 2021 but then just 10 days before our date my mom was diagnosed with cancer, so at the last minute we decided to elope and pulled off a mini wedding ceremony with just our parents and a few close friends. It was super stressful and not at all what it should have been, but it happened and WE ARE MARRIED!
Overall I'm happy we did it, and my husband and I did have some beautiful and sweet moments amidst the chaos and stress of hosting people in our tiny home that weekend when hotels, restaurants, and everything were closed. A few amazing vendors REALLY stepped up to help make our ceremony beautiful. Melissa of Tanglebloom Flower Farm made me a last minute bouquet with only a few days notice, our venue Mayfair Farm let us use their property and the owner Sarah even made us a beautiful (and delicious) cake for our mini ceremony, and our photographer Nora came out and captured photos, and she made us feel so comfortable and special and was an absolute highlight. She just posted a sneak peak of some shots on her business IG account @solarephotos and we love them. I can't wait to see the rest!
I'm REALLY glad we get a redo wedding next year, because this one barely felt like a celebration (my husband's parents wouldn't even hug us) but given the circumstances, I'm really glad we got married, #pandemicbedammed.
Also much love to these amazing vendors for helping our mini ceremony come together. If you are in northern New England and looking for vendors for your VT/NH/MA area weddings, I cannot recommend them highly enough:
