There is no one size fits all formula. Some people have any percentage attend. On WW it’s said that you will never get 100% attendance but it has happened at real life weddings before so always prepare for 100%. With Covid being a thing now, you have people who are anti tests/vaccines, others who can’t decide and others who will be there no matter what.

From past couples and parents we know, they mentioned that they never came across anyone rsvp’ing yes and not showing. So I would not worry.

Its hard to say. Since you sent out your invitations very early and Covid mandates keep changing as well as unexpected situations, etc. people may say yes now but then need to change as date gets closer.

I had 100% attendance! I only invited close family and close friends though, 75 in total

My parents had a handful of people RSVP yes and not show up and same with my fiancés uncle. With COVID policies constantly changing I would guess the chances of someone RSVPing yes and not coming are slightly more likely. But for me, I’d rather someone RSVP yes and have to pay for them than them come and be sick and get everyone else sick.

We had just over 80% attendance for our wedding- most of the declines were single friends choosing not to bring a plus one or out of town guests we figured wouldn’t be able to make the trip. We had two guests rsvp yes and not come.

Its hard to say because pre-pandemic I think the decline rate was 10-20%, but once weddings came back it was only like, 5-10%. But now with covid surging again I've heard the decline rate to big weddings is around 30%. Of course this is all hearsay and each wedding and group of people is different!

Also, YAY, we just sent out our invites for our March 2022 wedding! Its so great to know it is really getting close and people will be getting the invites in the next couple of days!!!

I just asked my cousin about the attendance rate at her wedding last month, and she said they had about 80%. And there were 8 people who RSVP’ed yes that didn’t show.

We sent them out because our venue and catering need final head count by the end of February also that’s when I’m having the baby and most of our guests are out of town

It certainly varies by crowd and COVID changes everything. Almost everyone we know has been very cautious about COVID and our wedding was indoors, after the big delta spikes but before omicron. Our decline rate was close to 50% and not all the no’s were COVID-related, but many were. Around half of our RSVPs were late, in some cases bc people were waiting to see what infection rates looked like and if they could get a booster first. We also had a few people back out the week before over COVID concerns after initially accepting, one who couldn’t come last minute bc he was sick and waiting on test results, one who couldn’t come last minute over an unrelated health issue, and one who couldn’t come bc she squeezed in a booster a few days before the wedding and was still feeling the side effects.

So, in short it depends partly on your crowd and how bad things are with COVID / how safe people feel.

Your venue and caterer are requiring a final headcount two months before your event?! That is very unusual during “normal” times, but seems unreasonable during our current pandemic state! How could they possibly expect you to know a final headcount 2 months in advance, when mandates are changing daily?!

They sure do. I had 12 yes RSVPS that didn't show. Most of those however could not make the event due to hazardous road conditions.

We have about 50% attendance at our destination wedding which seems high, I think it really differs from wedding to wedding, how many guests are traveling, covid as well.
