wearing a prom dress/formal dress instead of a wedding gown?

Whats you take on it? I have been searching and searching, mind you my wedding is on september 6th, so times a tickin! I cannot find a wedding dress that I love. The dresses that I love our prom dresses, or formal dresses. Is it weird to not wear a wedding dress on your wedding day :-o

As everyone said wear what you want to and if that isn't a wedding dress then don't wear one.
(as it is I'm wearing a formal green dress - wedding dress just aren't me)

If a bride is wearing it on her wedding day -- it IS a wedding gown!

I wore a bridesmaid gown ordered in ivory.

I think #1 is great. IMO # 3 is too sexy for a wedding.

I like number 1!! I agree with the rest of the ladies that its your wedding and you should feel beautiful and comfortable!! I don't have a formal wedding dress. I bought my dress from a department store and I can't wait to wear it in 58 days.

I am wearing a mother of the bride gown..it was not as heavy as the wedding gowns...I love it..

Not weird at all! And it's probably better because, more than likely, it'll be cheaper. I'd say go for it, if that's what you like.

I'm having a beach wedding, and I'm getting two dresses. One being a formal/prom dress and my reception dress being a full out, wedding ball gown!

Whatever you chose should be "you" and you should feel comfortable! Like everyone else has said no one has to know where you got it and i personally love all 3 but think that #3 is the sexiest!!!

What makes a wedding gown? That a bride is wearing it. It'll help the traditionalists that you're thinking long and white. Many women don't even go that route any more. But, seriously, what you wear really affects only you and so this is the one decision that you don't have to run by anybody, if you don't want to. And those dresses are gorgeous!
