Hello all!

I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time.

Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family and I were talking about planning and my rings and such. When a member of his family said that an engagement ring should be worn at ALL times and never taken off, with quite the attitude. As if she judging me for taking it off. Mind you, I take it off right when I get home, and put it right back on when I go out anywhere. I don’t want to get it dirty, damaged, or lose its shine while I am doing my everyday tasks at home.

So tell me, what do you do? Do you wear it at all times, without taking it off? Or do you take it off for certain tasks?

I used to wear mine more often but I've lost weight and now it's too loose I'm scared I'll lose it so I only wear it when we go out with another ring on top to keep it in place. Even if it wasn't too big, I probably wouldn't wear it all the time at home, FH is fine with this. When I do get my wedding band, I don't plan on ever taking that off, and he definitely doesn't want me to take that one off.

I wear mine when I go out usually but there are whole days that I usually go without it. On Saturdays I tend not to wear it at all unless we go out on Saturday night.

I do the same thing and people think I'm crazy!

I take mine off right when I get home and put it on when I go anywhere. My ring stays nice and shiny! Lol

I take mine off before I go to bed, and put it back on when I'm getting ready in the morning. And if I forget, like on the weekend, it is not a good feeling. Don't know if it helped, but it's your ring!

I wear my almost everyday all day with an occasional taking it off if I’m cooking something that is sticky on my hands. My ring is my dream ring and I have looked forward to wearing it so I ain’t wasting no time LoL! I do have lifetime insurance so I am not afraid of any mishaps. I think it is just preference. I don’t mind mine on all the time, but it does bother some physically and I get it. I don’t feel like you should feel bad about doing things how YOU want to and if your FH doesn’t care then they shouldn’t either!

I take it off when I'm putting on lotion or using cleaning chemicals. But other than that I keep it on all the time. Of course that's my choice, I wouldn't judge someone for making a different decision. There are many valid reasons for not wearing it 24/7

My husband and I both work in manufacturing, and we're not allowed to wear jewelry for safety reasons. So, I wear mine when I'm out of the house on other days, and take it off as soon as I get home. I'm pretty sure my husband hasn't worn his since about a week after we got married. He doesn't tend to go many places except work, and everyone there knows he's married!
Don't listen to what other people say. Everyone does their own thing when it comes to wearing their ring, or not. Everyone's situation is unique!

I wear mine always. If I’m cooking/mixing meat I wear gloves. I broke my ring finger and refused to let them cut it off.

I should add my husband can’t wear his at work. So he takes it off when he gets to work. Puts it back on when he empties his pockets to shower

Mine comes off at the gym, taking a shower, doing dishes and sleeping. Basically anytime I could loose it or damage it.

I love my ring, but it is pretty impractical to wear all the time, quite honestly. My fiancé had it designed to sit as low as possible (per my request) but I still don't find it ideal and it gets dirty really easily (lots of flat baguette stones and nooks and crannies). I too take it off pretty much the second I get home and then don't put it back on until the next morning right before I leave for work unless we go somewhere in the evening. And even then, I regularly run places without it.

I never wear my ring around the house. I don’t see the point. I only wear it when I leave the house.

I take mine off when I get home along with all of my other jewelry. Never wear your jewelry to bed!

I would love to wear my ring 24/7 but it’s just not realistic. My job consists of a lot of manual labor so I wear a silicone band. I also wash my hands often and I believe it’s not good for your ring. There is nothing wrong with not wearing your ring every second of the day. Amazon has a lot of cheap silicone ring options

I take mine off when sleeping, showering and working out. At times, I have left mine at home when running to the store, etc. I also have a stunt ring that has no real stones in it for travel.

My family was surprised when I got up the next morning. Was still in bed head and pjs and wasnt wearing it. They thought I'd wear it to bed?
I take it off from time to time. It spends quite a bit of time in my desk drawer just because I dont want it to get dirty.

Personally, I pretty much never take mine off! However, I don't see a problem with not wearing it all the time! Everyone is different! Especially if you are afraid of it getting damaged, dirty, etc. You do you girl!

I usually put my engagement ring in a box when I go to sleep to not loosen prongs on my engagement ring. I also take it off when I shower or for swimming also. If I’m doing anything that involves dirt like outside or like going to the gym I would also take it off. Other wise I just have it on all day usually at work.

I take mine off at the gym, playing sports, and doing housework/yard work. I do have a Qalo rubber ring that I wear when doing that stuff though. It came with a little pouch so that is where I keep my ring when I'm not wearing so it wont get lost or knocked off the counter to get eaten by my dongs.

I wear mine all the time except for in the shower or if I go somewhere like the beach/waterpark/swimming
