Wearing Ring While Working Out

ARudell, on February 24, 2017 at 9:32 AM

I find myself constantly removing my engagement ring for gym classes and going on runs... What do you ladies do? Do you have a different ring that you wear when working out? Or do you just go without?

I take mine off. I don't understand getting a ring just for the gym. Do you get one just to sleep in too?

I leave mine on for cardio and have my brother, who I work out with, hold it while I'm lifting. I go straight to work from the gym and don't like the idea of leaving it in my locker.

I take it off, but I do 95% weight lifting anymore. I plan on getting a qalo ring later.

I take mine off when exercising, showering, doing dishes and sleeping. I like the bracelet ring pocket idea. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a professional dancer and work out quite a bit. I was thinking about getting a necklace for my ring because I hate taking it off so much. But usually the days I know I'll be dancing or working out a lot I just leave it at home where I think it's most safe lol

I got mad at my husband for taking his off at the gym! Now I do it, too! I don't want it to get ruined or my hands to swell and it hurt.

I clip mine onto a lanyard because I box and wearing a ring is uncomfortable. I also have a silicone ring. I just forget to grab it when I head to the gym.

I take mine off for lifting only, I wear it for cardio. The only other time I take my ring off is to shower, because it's seems to get a little big and can slip off

Love Ring Bandit or check out Ring Hero (launched recently from a kickstarter!) -- its super soft and comfy. I take my ring off regardless of activity... I would never wear it while lifting, but also just don't like the feel of sweat under it during a spin class or something. During crossfit the only issue I find with a wrist pocket holder is for certain moves (like kettlebell snatches) I need to flip it around backwards so I don't risk hitting it. That makes me nervous and then I'm fidgeting it backward and forward during the workout.

I take mine off and leave it at home or put it on a necklace if I'm lifting but much prefer leaving it at home.

Cindy I don't get it either. It's one more thing to keep track of and then one more thing to lose. #whybother

I bought a set of stacking silicone rings from enso and they are so comfortable. I love my ring, don't get me wrong, but I'm in the healthcare field and wearing my ring is not really well suited for my job (or working out). The silicone ones I have were inexpensive and lower the risk for ring injuries while being active, as they will snap under pressure unlike metal.

I run with mine, but take it off if I'm going to be using the bar at the gym.

My ring is rose gold too! Do you have a particular necklace you prefer to use? I've been trying to shop around but haven't really liked many of the options out there. Thanks!

Hi Sam! I almost always have on a short necklace and just throw my ring on the chain for the hour of my workout- so I'm not generally worried about what it looks like. I do have a rose gold and blush Kendra Scott necklace that is maybe a 17 inch chain that happens to match my ring. Almost all my other day to day necklaces are yellow gold- and all in the 16-18inch range so they are pretty short and it's not flying around much while I work out. I just keep things to dainty chains, because it is the look I like. I refuse to leave my rings in the car or a gym bag/purse. Too much can get lost/stolen. I want it on my body always!
