Wearing wedding bands in formal portraits?

I’m having a last minute dilemma & would love to hear what others have done! For those who did formal portraits before the ceremony—did you wear your wedding bands in the formal portraits even though you weren’t yet married?


We will be doing ALL formal portraits—family, wedding party, couple—before the ceremony. Post ceremony, we will go to cocktail hour, which means my dress will need to bustled at that point. We hope to have some sunset photos but my dress would be bustled, they will be more casual, & currently rain is forecast so I’m not confident they will be possible.
We have two locations & so won’t have time after the ceremony even for a quick formal portrait, and that wouldn’t help with the family formals anyway. I spoke with a friend who had a similar photo setup & he said he regretted not wearing his band, but his wife didn’t.
We would not wear them for the first look, put them on for portraits, & then take them off for the ceremony. Part of me feels like this is disingenuous as we wouldn’t be married, but the other is thinking about how my parents may like their photo with me to have the wedding bands in them.
