Wearing your dress all night? Second dress?

So I had originally thought that I wanted to wear my dress all night because, you know, it's the one day that you can.. but now I'm thinking about getting a second dress, a more casual one. My reception is going to end at 11 and I really want to dance my a** off and I don't think I'll do that with...

If I change it's going to be into a sweatshirt and yoga pants.

I have two dresses. I love them both and can't wait to wear them both. First dress is typical wedding dress with lace. Second dress is satin with a low sexy back and no train. I'll wear lace through cake cutting so until about 8:30 and then change for the real party.

I wore mine all night and sweat my ass off! Loved it too much to take it off plus it's alot of money to just wear it for 1 hour or 2..

I plan to get a back up dress just in case, obviously more simple and cheaper! If I don't wear it I plan to resell it. The reason for the backup dress is that it still kinda hot in September in northern Cali and my reception ends at midnight. I would change after my first dance if anything.

I've seen posts about only wearing it 1-2 hours. How would that even be possible? I'll have had dress one on for 6 hours by the time we cut the cake. Most people have the dress on for a couple of hours before the ceremony for pictures, etc. then through ceremony, cocktail, hour, dinner and dances. Even if you changed right before the reception it would still be more than 2 hours unless you are not doing any pictures before and skipping cocktail hour.

This is why I'm wearing a short skirt. No need to change for comfortability's sake.

I plan to wear mine all night then change for the send off. We're riding off on the Harley so I'm changing to a cute white romper.

I wore mine all night and danced the entire time. In addition to the added cost of a second dressing, and loving my wedding dress, I didn't want to take time away from my reception to change, and then to have to worry about who was making sure my wedding dress didn't get left behind at the venue.

I'm definitely not changing into a second dress. I'm going to wear mine for as long as I can wedding night. I love it

I only want one! I'm having a going away dress that's purple and super pretty, though. It was also 40 bucks.

I just went to a wedding where the bride changed her dress for the reception.

I understand why you'd want to, but the ceremony dresses are so gorgeous, I wouldn't want to change. If you're going out afterwards, sure, but for the reception, no. I want to practically live in my dress so changing isn't at all a thought in my head.
