Website doesn't work on mobile browser

Dominic, on February 1, 2018 at 11:27 PM Posted in Account Support 0 26

I recently created a website with the Wedding Wire planning tools, and everything was great. The tools and ease of use are awesome, I pretty much finished up the site in a couple hours.

The only issue was with the mobile version of the site. On Android devices it seems to work as expected, but on iOS it fails to display any of the pages. After a bit more testing around, it looks like it is only Google Chrome that it is breaking on. I sent the link to a friend and it offered the same results.

It could possibly be an update to Chrome (I am running version 64 currently), but other than that I'm not sure what to do. Any insight on this issue?

I’m not sure what you mean. I have the latest iOS update and I can see it all perfectly fine.

Hey Dominic, I have an Android phone or else I'd do some testing for you. My first recommendation is to clear your browser's cache and cookies and update to the latest version, then try viewing your website again. If it continues to be a problem we can try the Support Team (they can be reached at support@weddingwire.com) or we can report it as a bug if others are experiencing this too.

Anyone else with an iphone having this?

In the meantime Dominic, the web editor on the full desktop version of the site can show you a preview of what your website will look like on a phone's screen (go to your website editor and select "Preview", then switch device views at the bottom of the page).

Out of curiosity, what generation of iPhone do you have? I have a 6S.
However, my fiancé's sister has an iPhone 7 and it is working on hers.

Hi Jo, thanks for the reply. So after trying a few more things, here is my update:

I cleared Chrome's cache and cookies and updated iOS from 11.2.2 to 11.2.5. Chrome itself was still up to date. Unfortunately I am still having the issue.

On an interesting note, I had one friend try it out on his iPhone (with not exact but similar versions of everything), and it was not displaying any pages for him either. However, my fiancé's sister just tried it out this morning, and it appears normal for her. The catch is that she has an iPhone 7.

Same issue here. Cannot load page on mobile phone for Google Chrome, but was able to load it on Safari! I just printed my invitations with the URL so hoping this can be fixed!

Update on this. I incorrectly said that I had a iPhone 6S, but it is actually just a iPhone 6. Seems to be occurring in iPhones that a 6 or earlier. My friend that reported the same bug had a 5C.

Unfortunately we're having the same problem also. The website works fine on Android devices and from computers, but does not work when being viewed from an iPhone device. Has there been any update on this? We've received multiple calls from people using iPhones saying our website is broken. Thanks for any updates!

I just created my WW website, but the link doesn't work. Is there a certain time frame that I have to wait for the site to be live? Or should it be ready to use right away??

I'm also having this issue Smiley sad I'm pretty worried after seeing these comments and the fact that most guests will try to view our site on a mobile device. I just an email to tech support.

Commenting on this thread because there has been some activity.

Unfortunately, I ended up going with The Knot for our wedding website because this issue did not seem like it would be fixed in time.

Because so many of our guests would be RSVPing with mobile devices, it was important we had a working mobile website.

Just wanted to throw that out there. Hope it works out for everyone else!
