Website faq

Chloe, on September 2, 2021 at 9:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
I'm working on our website (😃) and trying to list all the possible FAQs. I would very much prefer to answer any upcoming questions right on our website, to avoid having to answer the same question multiple times to different people. I would appreciate it if you could all take a look and tell me if you think I'm missing something or if there is anything else you get asked often. Here's what I have so far:

- can we bring our children?
- when should I be there at the latest?- where should I park?- is there a dress code?- we can't find a dog sitter! What now? (the only question I got asked thrice so far Smiley smile)- is there nothing more beautiful than an immensely long bride kidnapping?- why are you asking for our email addresses?

You can add some things about Covid like if masks are required or whet precautions you will be taking to make people feel comfortable

I don't understand the kidnapping thing. But mostly, I'm just responding to advise you to keep your expectations low about finding a way to craft the perfect FAQ that keeps people from asking you these questions. They will still ask. Plenty of people never go to a wedding website. Some visit it and forget about it. Some can't find the info they need because they don't know how to find things on websites. Some people will just want to ask you questions.

I'm not saying this to be mean, just as a caution to not get too invested in your website's content that you get continually frustrated later by people who don't use it as you intended. This is just the nature of weddings and wedding guests.

Thanks for your input! I kind of know this, but still, even if I manage to keep 20% of potential questions from being directed at us, it will be a success.
Bride kidnapping is a German tradition.

I was actually thinking that maybe we should leave it until a closer date, to see what sort of restrictions are in place by then .. but you're probably right, I may insert something about how we expect to keep to the guidelines etc

This is what we have on ours

When will the invitations be sent?

    When is my RSVP due?

Can I RSVP online, via email or text message?

If I am unable to attend, do I still need to return the RSVP card?

What should I do if I can't attend the wedding and I have already RSVP's as attending?

What if I move before the invitations are sent out?

    Can I bring my children?

Will you provide transportation to the venue from any of the hotels listed under Local Accommodations?

What will your married names be?

Will you be using a social media hashtag!?

Are there any COVID-19 restrictions we should be aware of?

I have another question, who do I ask and how?
