Okay I know this isn't a great solution but.... I used the website editor on my phone and tested out a bunch of the different designs and SOME of them don't have the black background when you change them on the phone editor (they still do when I tried to edit it on the computer).

I changed my design to one without the black background, and while it isn't the design I wanted, it's better than having my guests look at my website and not be able to read it with the horrible black background design that it had before!

Have they fixed it? I am really upset too because my website is ruined and I've already ordered Accommodations Cards.

Try the painted floral design or olive branches. To my knowledge those are the only ones currently working correctly. I just had to change the design of my website to one of those. It's not the design I wanted but at least it's working properly. Hopefully it stays that way.

8 days to fix a website glitch is unacceptable. Here is the latest info that I received today from the Wedding Wire Support Team: 5/11 @ 2:36 EST

This unexpected issue is sitewide, and our tech team has prioritized this issue for a fix, sadly, we do not have an estimated timeline at this time due to the nature of the issue and the complexities. They are working diligently to restore this issue on all themes for all end users that are impacted.

As soon as this issue is fixed, I will personally send you an email to let you know it has been resolved.

That would be awful. I'm going to try downloading my site so I have all the content just in case!

No luck - just an email saying "they are aware and working on it"

Update - I just went through a lot of the layouts and it looked like a lot seem to be working or are legible (but still have the black bar underneath) Sadly my layout still isn't working! If you're in a pinch and need the site to be legible ASAP, I would go through and look for a layout you can live with temporarily until the problem is solved.

Mine is fixed as well! YAY finally!! Hopefully it stays that way!!!

How were you able to edit your site to match your invites? Trying to build my site, there is a tiny amount of themes to choose from and NONE of them are what I want. Were you able to somehow upload custom background images, etc, and if so...how??
