Wedding Aisle Candles

Future Mrs. R Perez, on March 18, 2016 at 12:34 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

My ceremony is in a ballroom. I am convinced I want to add candles in my wedding aisle. The venue will lend me the pilsner tall vase which I will add an orchid inside the water and a floating candle. I want to add some scent so I am considering adding another two vases - one medium sized and a votive sized rose scent. Has anyone used candles in the and have pictures to share?

Are you blocking off the aisle from guests using it to take their seats? If not, you're asking for a disaster. The only way I think this would work would be to have a SUPER wide (6' or more) aisle. You don't want it anywhere near your dress, train or veil. You'll need to weight them down really good so that they aren't likely to be tipped over. And one accident and the water would be everywhere. I would recommend only filling the water half way so it's not sloshing as you set them in place or lighting the candles. You'll need a long wanded type lighter to light the candles.

If you love it, I hope it works out great for you.

Sounds gorgeous! I would immediately trip over one, splash water on my dress, and light my hair on fire. I know myself well.

I agree with midwest that as long as they aren't near any guests or your dress you would be fine, but that's a lot of risk if you have a narrow aisle or nearby guests (with kids).

Candles, water and glass at many, many peoples' feet, near your dress and veil, etc? Heck no.

If you DO do it, have lots of very responsible ushers, rope the aisle itself off from guests, and hope like heck there aren't kids running around or oblivious/klutzy guests seated right on the aisle itself. (one pair of crossed legs with a swinging foot is all it takes....)

My ceremony is in a ballroom as well and I had thought about doing the same thing... having candles along the aisle but then I thought about the potential fire hazard so I then thought of using lanterns and we are gonna put the battery tea lights and incorporate rose petals down the side of the aisle.

The aisle will look similar to this and I was thinking of only adding it at the beginning, middle and end...
