Wedding album

Catherine K, on September 29, 2017 at 1:32 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11

I just got a price estimate for a wedding album and parent albums and I think it's crazy. Is anyone familiar with red tree albums? What is a reasonable price for these albums? Anyone have suggestions for a good company?

Is this for your wedding pictures? What are parent albums?

I'm not familiar with Red Tree but I know Shutterfly makes books. SIL gets stuff made on there all the time and a few years ago my sis had one made for me. She was able to add words too to describe the pics or memories!

Yes for my wedding pictures. They are big fancy albums with your names engraved, some made with cloth/fabric, others with leather etc.

Parent albums are smaller versions of the album you get so they have a keepsake too.

Here is an example of one of the websites I found.

You get what you pay for. Quality albums hold up better and print quality, binding is wayyyy better than consumer grade albums like shutterfly. My favorite is kIss, I think it's a little less costly than red tree, but I think red tree has different cover options.

We did ours through our photog and it was $1200. The price you found looks like a good deal. Do they do touchups of the pictures too?

Also, LOL at @Octavia. Ummm we're talking about wedding albums. Maybe you should make a different thread....

I used shuterfly. I didn't need a super expensive one. I like the quality, yes a few pictures kind of look fuzzy if you stare at them too long, but I'm not super picky about that.

Its a hard cover with lay flat pages and extra thick pages as well. I got 30 pages customize layouts on sale for $58 with shipping, originally $200. I figured with the sale, if I didn't like it, it wasn't a big loss and I could try somewhere else.

On a tight budget for christmas this year, so parents are getting an album and one or two canvas blow up pictures they choose.

ETA: the album was 12x12 too

The red tree album is actually $800 for a fabric one, $850 for leather, $300 for each parent album. I'm trying to decide if I splurge for my album and do parent albums with shutterfly? Or do I splurge for all of it, because you only have one wedding (well supposed to anyway..) I've been reading reviews for red tree and they are supposedly one of the best..

Try Kiss books, I'm extremely picky about my print goods and paper surfaces, as well as binding and cover options...and they pass the test with me. I think they are very similar. I mean I'm extremely picky. Like hella. Uber. Lol.

I honestly don't know the difference between kiss and red tree. I've seen both in person, but never side by side, I don't recall a noticeable difference. But have ordered over 30 kiss books in the past two years.

I heard lots of nice things about Artifacts Uprising (the screenshot you posted).

My photographer only offers 2 parent gift albums in the package I chose, so I'm creating a 3rd one (probably through Shutterfly) for my father and give the nicer ones to H's parents and my mother. My father won't get too hung up on the quality, and I have an album from my bridal shower from Shutterfly, and it's nice. Of course I'm sure it's not as nice as one from Artifacts Uprising, but it holds up just fine.
