So, I didn't totally think about the fact that our wedding will be during Lent season. UGH! We're having a pasta bar for dinner and guest can chose their own toppings, so everyone should be fine, but I'm just hoping that it doesn't affect the wedding day in any other way. You're fine ... During Lent most people give up meat and swearing .... So you'll be fine ... There are very few Catholics that go hardcore ... One year I gave up dairy, meat, starch, sugar and liquor but If I was attending a wedding I wouldn't be a pest ... I just sneak a lil rum, cheese, wine and pasta lol

For a wedding people will probably make exceptions! I wouldn't worry too much!

If I attend a wedding during lent and it's on a Friday, I will eat meat regardless and if I had given up alcohol I'd drink it as well! Usually if your celebrating something such as a wedding, it is ok to do so. Not eating meat on Fridays during lent is a sacrifice you choose to make. A pasta bar is actually a nice idea for a Friday during lent for those who will still continue to not eat meat on Fridays regardless of the occasion.

@Laura, we will have a good number of Muslim people too!

Anyway, I'm sure it will all work out!

Every good Catholic plans in advance what they will give up. With a wedding on the horizon, no one is giving up alcohol. We don't have to give up something, we can also add something that would make us a better person. It will be fine. Maybe instead of a photo both you can have a confessional for those that chose the meat sauce.
