Angie , on February 9, 2019 at 7:18 PM Posted in Oregon Planning 1 6
Hi all,

im thinking about having my wedding ceremony and reception at champoeg state park in St. Paul, Oregon.
Is anyone else thinking about having their wedding at a state park or has anyone had their wedding at one?

Hey Angie!! I love the idea of a state park wedding! In my head, they're more of a casual, chill event, like a picnic or cookout, with food from a local restaurant and yard games. But I've been to one or two that are the whole grand wedding under a tent with tables and a fancy buffet. I think a state park is versatile and affordable, can be molded into any sort of wedding wonderland you want it to be.

TLDR: State park weddings are cool. I think you'd have a good time doing it. Smiley smile

I was looking there but catering and tear down was the deciding factor. We were not doing a country wedding, buffet yes, but we were going to hang chandeliers and such. I've seen black tie weddings in the woods! Your wedding will be what you make it.
The one thing I remember about Champoeg was the parking fee. That was going to be a couple to few hundred dollars to cover for guests.

Our wedding is very rustic that’s why we thought Champoeg would be the perfect venue since it’s so beautiful and rustic.

hat’s a very good point. I didn’t even think about the parking fee.
    Thank you!

I'm very frustrated because we booked the pavilion for our wedding (which is on 6/15/19) and were told by the booking person that it was fine that the reception would go to 10. They just sent information saying we have to leave one hour before closing time which is 9 pm??? That means we must be gone by 8 pm? I am freaking out. Also, we booked the pavilion for 6/14 and 6/16 too and they charged us the same as 6/15 when we will have more than the allowed 50 people. We won't on the other days. Has anyone else had these problems?
