Wedding bands for halo engagement rings

TeamEJ2009, on May 16, 2017 at 12:42 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

FH and I looked at a few wedding bands recently and I felt that none of them go well with my engagement ring. :-( I have a halo engagement ring with diamonds on the band. I absolutely LOVE my engagement ring & am hoping to find a wedding band that will compliment it. So far all the wedding bands blend in and that's not what I want. I want something unique but that won't take away from the main diamond. Ideas?

Your ring is gorgeous!! My friend has one that's similar. Here is a photo of her e-ring and band, she got one of the contoured bands and it looks really beautiful. She is pregnant now and has been wearing the band only and even with the contour it is still beautiful on its own.

I have a round halo and I just got a regular band (I'll post a photo below).

Here is my set. It's a regular/straight band. My engagement ring actually came with a matching band but it was so thin I felt like it blended in too much. I wanted a wider band and got this instead.

You could always get a band in a different metal, if you're into mixing metals and want the differentiation to be more apparent. I've seen this done and it's quite beautiful. Or you could get one of those scalloped-type vintage looking bands.

My engagement ring is a round halo with a split, twisted shank studded with diamonds. I went with a simple straight band in white gold. If the halo sits up high enough (I can't tell from your photos) you can get away with that kind of band, either plain or encrusted. I opted against further diamonds in my wedding band and chose a laser-cut style instead.

ETA: I don't have any pictures of me wearing them, but I want to add that there isn't much of a gap in the bands when they're on my finger. The photo makes them look like they'd never sit flush, but they actually do.

I also have a halo engagement ring that I love and want to be the highlight of my set. I was worried that adding more would just make it clunky, rather than compliment it. We went in Saturday and I'll most likely be doing one rose gold band. I considered 2, one for the top and one for the bottom, but I like the simplicity of 1 and can always add more if needed.

Here's my set. It was important to both of us to have matching wedding bands (hence the white gold band) then I'm adding some bling on top. It has a slight curve to it (similar to the pp who's friend is pregnant), it looks great without the Ering so I'm excited to mix it up with how I wear it! Eventually I'd love to have a bunch of stackable a for either my left or right hand, thankfully FH is on board too!

I have a halo engagement ring with a basket setting. My ring sits on my hand like this, so only a contour band would be able to line up with it. I don't want a contour band, because I would like to occasionally wear my wedding band without my engagement ring.

I'll be doing something similar to this. That way, I can wear each ring by itself without it looking strange.

ETA- in the stock photo the metals are mismatched, I plan on getting a band that matches my ring, but I will just have to tolerate the gap when I wear the two.

Here is mine. My halo is a little more unique, but it works.

If you don't find anything you like, you can always just wear your ering as your wedding ring. My SIL did that since she has an elaborate e ring and didn't want the band to take away from the ring.

I got a totally mismatched band in rose gold to go with my white gold e-ring. I ended up going with the band on the top (Henri Daussi).

Ah thanks girls! I guess I have to go to a few more stores and try different styles on.

I was looking for something that would compliment, but also look good on it's own if I were to just wear the band. I also didn't want a matching curved band, as I thought they looked odd Ended up with this and love it.
