Wedding Bands - What, When, and Where??

Ya'll I know my fiance spent a lot of money on my engagement ring and it is GORGEOUS so I don't want to be "cheap" buying our wedding bands but I'm really not one to spend a lot on jewelry for him or for myself - I have no clue where to start looking for bands especially since I have a Marquise cut...

Ya'll I know my fiance spent a lot of money on my engagement ring and it is GORGEOUS so I don't want to be "cheap" buying our wedding bands but I'm really not one to spend a lot on jewelry for him or for myself - I have no clue where to start looking for bands especially since I have a Marquise cut ring and I'll need a decent v-shape to go around it.

I think he wants Tungsten? Idk, neither does he haha. Someone help with where to start! What did you pay for your bands, how far in advance did you get them, and where did you find them?

A friend of mine got her's on overstock.com. We got our's at Sam's Club. I know it sounds weird, but they have some really nice jewelry and really good prices.

I would try Etsy, there’s so many great jewelers that will work with you to make a custom ring if need be. I’m received a few rings from a jeweler on Etsy that does free try ons. So you pick a few styles you like, and then you get a mock up, a sample at home. You decide if you like the style and just pay for shipping. I will message you the info, if I have good feedback. Good luck!!

I wouldn’t recommend anything but an actual jeweler, they can create customs. Also, be careful with ring types, Tungsten rings can shatter very easily if you hit them and if they are broken/chipped they cannot be repaired, you’d have to have a whole new ring. (Which is why you get insurance with an actual jeweler.) Please visit the jeweler you bought your ring from, they always have payment plans (when opening a card with them) I’ve also seen the “V” ring your describing a lot. Look around before resorting to online, you don’t want anything uninsured.

We just picked out our wedding bands and ordered them on Wednedsay! And we are 60 days out today, so we were a little late on picking them out, but they will come with plenty of time!
He ended up getting a thinner tungsten band, and it cost $174. Yes, tungsten can break, but it needs to be dropped or hit at the exact right place and force, so its VERY unlikely to happen. And the jeweler we went to said the company they use for tungsten has a life time warranty so if in the unlikely hood you are to break it, you just have to pay shipping and they make you a whole new one. My fiance also works with electricity and small places so he originally was going to get ceramic, so that's something you can look into as well. Amazon has great man rings as well, my fiance just happened to find one at a jeweler!

I was originally only planning on spending like $200-$300 on my wedding band.... well my MOH convinced me to go to the jeweler she went to for her ering set... and lo and behold I fell in love with one of their bands... so $1000 later I now have my wedding band.... also same jeweler my fiance got his band... and we got 12 months interest free financing... so I caved and got the band of my dreams!
But etsy does have a lot of AMAZING rings! I was just nervous buying one off there since I also have an odd curve as I have a 2 carat round, so the band has to curve around it, so I wanted to try some on in person since most etsy rings I looked at had a "sales final" policy...

We got his at Bario Neal and mine from Holden Rings. Not sure if either carry tungsten but Bario Neal does have a lot of v options for you.

We got our wedding bands from etsy. Together we spent probably 250 on wedding bands. My engagement was was like 2k. While I love it, inwish I had just gotten it from etsy as well. They have bands that will pretty much fit any style of engagement ring.

This is I think what my goal is - I'm okay with going with $100 bands for each of us and maybe upgrading as an anniversary set down the line, we're spending the money on our actual wedding DAY, things that can't be re-done, I don't want to invest so much of our budget into rings that can be replaced, you know?

I just did a lot of online shopping and trying on rings till I found one that complemented my skin and the ring. lol I felt like I was annoying but its a ring im going to be wearing for the rest of my life I did not want to settle lol

P.S can we see your ring ? lol

I spent $120 on a tungsten band for my FH! Both of my rings were/are expensive, however, he works with his hands and 9 times out of 10 he will be leaving it at home. Where as I, will be wearing both EVERYDAY. He is also not a jewelry person not to mention very frugal so he didn't mind at all. His ring is really nice still Smiley smile

I bought my fiance's ring on Sunday from Zales. He bought my band from the jeweler he went to. He absolutely loves his ring!

I went to a local jewelry store with my FH, told him we were just gonna get his size. He found one he loved and I bought it on the spot. We will keep it stored until the wedding. It was 14k gold band with a pattern on it. My band and his band put together are about half the cost of my e-ring. He choose his ring though and likes it simple. Im getting my band made custom from a jewelry on Etsy. Also I got mine a year in advanced lol just wanted to get it out the way.

Soo if your wedding is April 2020 I would hold out for some cyber Monday/ black Friday deals! I got our rings at 40% off at a private jeweler because they were having a huge sale for black Friday!
