Wedding belt/sash or not and why?

Bappybride, I love lavender and such a nice dress!

The before picture I guess had a sash that was attached to the dress. Anyway this is with the belt I bought (best picture I have for now...)

I am because my dress doesn't have any embellishment at all.

I am generally not crazy about belts or sashes because I am already so short waisted that I feel like I need as much continuity as possible to help elongate my torso.

Eta- and I hate bling.

I am because I wanted a little more sparkle and I found a great belt on sale. I may or may not actually wear it.

I am still looking for my dress, but my top 2 choices I would add a belt or sash

I dont think you necessarily NEED one because your dress tapers in and fits the smallest part of your waist naturally. If you add a belt you may shorten the look of your torso. Combined with a short dress that could make you look stumpy. Your best bet is to actually try it on with a bridal belt. then post pics!

I vote yes. Add sparkle and define waist.

I think it looks nice with the sash! If you do one, match it with your colors and keep it simple.

A belt might look nice on your dress and bring it together, I would try one on and see.

I tried on a few belts but opted to not have one. I have an a-line gown with beautiful lace details on the top and didn't want to take away from that.

I ended up picking a belt to go with mine. It kind of solidified the choice for me. I love the sparkly part of your dress OP, and I agree it could go either belt or belt less. If you were leaning the way of a belt, would you be opposed to having a colored belt to add a little pop?

Yes, big black sash with my pink wedding dress. Partly because I love pink and black together, and with the sash, my dress looks like one of my favorite Barbie outfits in the 80's .

Also, I'm large busted. W/O it, I feel like my dress looks like a pretty skirt and GIANT BOOBS! Not exactly the look I'm going for on my wedding day.....

I had belt/sash regret and ended up selling the one I had tried in the pic and getting something less blingy.

My dress has a belt already but with other dresses I tried on, we added a belt. I really like them , try one on and see how it looks. Your dress is so pretty!
