Wedding & Birthday

Lav, on August 13, 2021 at 9:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Any suggestions on how I can incorporate my wedding (10/01/22) with my birthday (10/02/22)? I don’t have any ideia on what to do other than saying it’s my birthday lol

    A couple ideas:

    • Add an extra tier to your cake that's your favorite flavor (or just birthday cake flavor)
    • Have the DJ play a song for you and invite your guests to come dance with the birthday girl.

Personally, I would keep them as two separate events. Maybe celebrate with your close girl friends after you get married or move your wedding date. But your wedding should be about you and your spouse joining together, not just a bit party for your birthday. That’s just me personally. I wouldn’t want the two to be combined.
If you do still want to, maybe have your bridesmaids sing happy birthday to you while getting ready. Have a special birthday moment with your new spouse after the ceremony before the reception. Have a birthday dinner on your honeymoon

We had a late evening wedding and my husband’s birthday was the following day. I brought him out a cake at midnight and we all sing happy birthday to him. He loved it. And know when we go away for our anniversary each year it will double as a birthday trip.

Awwnn! That was so sweet of you… I don’t know if my future husband would be planning anything for me so that’s why I would like to incorporate something for my birthday. Don’t need to be a birthday party, you know?! Just something minimalist and special Smiley smile

My parents got married on my grandpa’s birthday. My mom and aunts made a separate birthday cake for him and I think they all sang. You could do something similar. Or just have the DJ make an announcement “Let’s wish the bride a Happy Birthday!”

My mom got married very close to her birthday. She had 2 cakes made, one wedding cake and one birthday cake. They were beautiful. I don't recall singing happy birthday, but everyone knew it was her birthday too. People didn't bring extra presents or anything like that. It was just mixed in with the celebration and she loved it that way.

I would ask the DJ to make an announcement and then play a fun song like 50 cent - “go shawty it’s yo birthday”

But on second thought since it’s not on the actual same day, I might actually lean towards not having any birthday mentioned
