Wedding Block Question

Maya, on November 3, 2021 at 11:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

My venue is perfectly situated halfway between a popular suburban shopping area and downtown Minneapolis (less than 10 minutes to each). I was looking at a hotel in the suburban shopping area for my wedding block. I have emailed and called so many times and they never call back so now I am looking for other hotels. For a number of reasons, I am probably going to do two hotels for my wedding block. This may be a silly question, but is it weird for me to do one in the shopping district and one downtown? Or when people do two wedding blocks, is it customary to have the hotels close to each other? Thanks!

I think as long as they're both reasonably close to the venue, I don't think it matters. The more important thing would be to make sure both were in different price points, otherwise there isn't a huge need to have more than 1 hotel block.

I think closer to the venue is all that matters, people won't really care if its near shopping. But yes, different price points to include everyone!

The only factor for me would be if you were planning on offering a shuttle to your wedding, which would be easier to offer at one hotel. From a guest perspective, I care about closeness to the venue, access to food if we’re arriving the night before and not invited to a welcome party/rehearsal dinner and ease of parking if we have a car and Uber availability if not.
