We're getting just a small cake for us and whoever wants a slice but we're also getting cupcakes, and other small desserts for everyone

Not a complete necessity, but I believe some type of dessert is. We will be having a cheesecake for our cake since the FH isn't a fan of regular cake and donuts for sure for our guests! I'm still debating on having a few other little treats like cookies or brownies just so there's a little variation as well.

Cake is necessary. But not one of those over the top 5+ tier cakes. 3-4 maximum.

This is so necessary to me. A staple I couldn't miss out on. I love cake and so does my FH. I did consider donuts too though.

Totally not necessary. We were actually thinking pie for a really long time. The venue we chose came with a free wedding cake though, so we'll be doing it.

I don't think it's necessary per say but it is most definitely traditional.

We had mini cheesecakes, Oreo pudding shooters, banana pudding shooters, donuts, and cookies!

My wedding wouldn't be complete without a wedding cake. I would love to have a dessert table as well.

We're having cake, but not a "wedding cake" with tiers and what not. I'm having a friend bake several of her amazing cream cheese poundcakes. It's my absolute favorite cake in the world. Honestly the more I looked at wedding cake ideas on pinterest the more I didn't like them.

I don't believe it is necessary, mostly because it is a new day and age. Plus many couples are doing cake or a dessert. We aren't doing this part. I really don't even like cake.

A dessert of some kind is necessary. A wedding cake is optional.

I don't think a wedding cake is necessary! At the last three weddings my FH and I attended, we don't remember ever having (or even wanting to have) any of the wedding cake, but we sure do remember the dessert spreads. We are planning on having a very small two-tiered "naked" cake to cut and maybe have ourselves and a s'mores/donut bar for all the guests. Easy and inexpensive!
