How much are you spending on your wedding cake? I will have around 80 people, was quote around $500 for a cake. Design not discussed yet. Is that a normal price?

It spends on where you live but that sounds reasonable to me. Mine was just under $500 for 50 people.

It really depends on your location and the bakery's experience, but that sounds pretty normal to me. I paid $800 for 120 guests including tax and delivery/setup fees, and they don't charge extra for basic design. If you're trying to cut costs, you can try Costco or other grocery stores for decent cakes at a cheaper price.

That is about the ballpark, although our bakery did sketch of the design with us before providing a quote. As I understand it, the more complicated the design can impact the cost. We paid $750 for a cake that could feed up to 162 guests with two different flavors. Included delivery fee and their time to set it up. We had satellite cakes, so that may have been a factor in our final cost. We are not in a large city or a high cost area, so it felt like a very reasonable price. Hope this helps! ❤️

It'll really depend on your location. I'm in MD and am paying $195 for a fairly simple 2-tier cake that feeds 25 and $240 for 2 half-sheet cakes that feed 50 each. Grand total is $540 including delivery and tax. I highly suggest supplementing a smaller cake with sheet cakes if you want to decrease cost - the tiered cake is $7.80/person while the sheet cakes are only $2.40/person!

This is an international forum, you need to get price quotes in your city. Get tastings before you book anyone. Make sure when you are comparing prices that it is for the same product at both.

We are getting ours from Publix - a grocery store in the southeast known for their cakes - and were quoted around $350 for two sheet cakes and a two tiered cake, which would feed 150. Expecting that to go down since our count will be lower.

I plan on doing a either a small 2 tier cake or a small 3 seperate cakes for display and then sheet cake for serving. Also trying to keep my cake below $500.00. I plan on getting my cake through a local grocery store that has amazing cakes, depend on their pricing for sheet cake may go with them if not Costco sheet cake is also great!

I’ll be having a 3 tier cake that will serve about 80 people for $245. Our cake will have a buttercream frosting, if I wanted fondant it would be more expensive. I didn’t want to spend anything close to $500 for a cake so, I did alot of searching to find a cheap good quality baker in my area (Houston).

I never knew how expensive wedding cakes were until I started doing my research! That price range is definitely normal. It all depends on where you are ordering from. Just make sure you can try a sample piece so you know you are getting your money's worth for looks and taste!

I decorate wedding cakes. Typically we start with a price per person. Where I work we go low, $4-5/per person. Where I'm getting married it is $6-8/per person. Plus the added delivery fees. And prices will start with basic buttercream deco. Additional cost for fondant, fresh flowers, sugar flowers, etc...

Our venue has an all inclusive package that we signed up for which includes the cake. It’s budgeted at $550- that’s for a 3 tier cake. If we wanted another tier than we’d have to pay extra. We’re having 3 different flavors & can have any design. That includes delivery & setup.
