Wedding cake

Katryna, on January 5, 2022 at 11:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
When did everyone schedule their cake tasting? I'm having my wedding at a venue that partners with a bakery. It just so happens that it's one of my favorite bakeries. I want to make sure I book them ahead of time before my date gets taken but I also don't want to do too early. What do you think would be considered to early?

We had a similar set up. I want to say I called about 5 months out and we had the tasting about 4 months out. My bakery had an FAQ on their website that had some info about wedding cakes if they partnered with your venue.

I think we did our tasting around 6 months before our wedding. Our baker was not a part of our venue, so we had to make sure we booked her early enough. I, personally, don't think there is such thing as too early when it comes to booking important vendors. Especially with the amount of weddings that have been rescheduled to 2022 due to Covid.

Our venue was also partnered with a bakery who took care of our cake. We did our tasting six months before our date, or rather, our original date. We had to reschedule twice because of COVID, but both times we let the bakery know, and they kept our cake as originally ordered. It was delicious!
