Wedding Card Box Alternatives?

Samantha, on July 1, 2021 at 7:25 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20
Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative to the card box with a slot that isn't a lantern, birdcage, mailbox, birdhouse, or a small suitcase? Our wedding theme is Enchanted Christmas, colors are red and gold, and I'd love to be able to utilize the card box as something else in the future so it isn't just a wedding only purchase. Thank you!

We are doing this with the added option for the card slot:

Maybe the white finish could work for your theme?

That's a great idea! Do you think it'd look tacky if we wrapped a box with red paper and tied it up with gold ribbon with a slot in the top?

No, I think that's pretty common. You can use glitter or wrapping paper like this?

I try and avoid glitter if at all possible. Someone once told me that glitter is the herpes of the art world and I've never heard a truer statement. Thank you for the photo for inspiration!!

Since you said Christmas theme, if you are having any sort of nativity they could be left by/in the manger.

    Or a gingerbread house lol

Because it’s Christmas themed, what about a stocking?

A stocking would be so cute! I also like the idea of a present box or a gingerbread house!

Ooh, a stocking is a great idea also! If we go that route should I have it just laying on the table with red rose petals and candles around it?

You could hook it on something, like maybe a table number stand or a wall or something?

Maybe a command hook if there's a wall? And wrap some presents and put them around the bottom?

Every wedding we have attended (except for one with a birdcage that no one knew what to do with) has had a regular open basket on the guestbook/gift table at the entrance. There was never any cause for paranoia of needing a locked container

I'm not concerned about anything getting stolen. We aren't having a registry and aren't asking for any money or gifts anyway. We truly just want family and friends to come celebrate with us and have a great time. Smiley smile
But just in case someone wants to bring a card or small gift I'd like to have a table for it so there's no confusion.

Guests understand that gifts are optional and many will bring them even if you request none, and some will bring a card only. Having a regular basket is great to keep them in one place and they will be able to figure out based on the setup what it’s for.

So true and some places will charge you extra for the clean up of glitter.
