Wedding Card Box or Birdcage

Brittany , on January 12, 2018 at 12:51 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

Was just curious as to what type of wedding card holder y'all used? I was thinking about a DIY box, the ones on etsy are a little pricey (as well as the birdcages). but wanted to ask all you brides what you did first!

We had this really cute mailbox to use (like $11 from oriental trading company) that we'd painted to look like the one from Up. Then DH left it at home- so we just used a basket that we found at the venue.

We're using a birdcage that I got on clearance at Michael's.

I got a perfectly sized box with a gift in it for Christmas...the box is Star Wars theme LOL, so I was planning to cover it in a pretty paper and add a slot for cards.

I’m looking for something similar to this. I’m not a fan of bird cages and what not.

I had to crop the photo a lot to be able to see the glass box I got from BHLDN I used for the card box. Now it holds our vow booklets, the ribbon for our handfast and a few dried roses from my bouquet.

This is what I just ordered off Amazon. It was $25 and not a detail that I care that much about. It's supposed to have some shimmer to it. I looked at Michaels and just their basic white boxes were $30-40. My fiance wanted something that wasn't see through since we're expecting most of our gifts to be cash in envelopes. It'll get the job done & then I'll probably try to resell it afterwards if it's still in good shape.

We found a seller on Etsy who creates a card box using your house as inspiration. Since DH and I have been remodeling our house for last year, and his mom grew up in the house, this was very sentimental to us.
