Wedding Ceremony and reception

So... with less than 20 something days to go until my July 18 wedding, I found out from my pastor that we may have to move the ceremony outside. Also, we may not be able to have the reception inside our other church building. I’m at a crossroads and don’t know what to do. My FH and I are having a 2 tiered cake with a dessert buffet and bbq. But now everyone may end up having to be outside, after they get their food. So now I’m guessing we may only be able to have the DJ for the ceremony. We’ve done everything ourselves with no help and I don’t know what to do anymore to fix this situation. Ladies, I’m freaking out and need your advice. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense, I’m very stressed. How do we move everything outside? We really don’t have the budget to buy a tent and makeshift dance floor. That was all supposed to be in our other building. I’m hoping that this scenario doesn’t stick but if it does, ugh! Bouquet toss, garter toss, will this even happen? I’m freaking out, lol

Maybe you won’t need a dance floor! As long as people understand where the area is like markers outlining the “dance floor”

Is the church offering any help on this development?

Obviously, it's for safety, but you will likely need some shelter of some kind. I feel like someone from the church should be helping you sort this out!

At the moment no, I’m hoping to speak with my pastor today or tomorrow. For safety reasons I totally get it but with less than 28 days to go, I’m panicking lol. Basically he told me that people would get their food inside the building than come back out to sit and eat 🙄😂. It really doesn’t help me much.

I'm so sorry! The church doesn't have any kind of pavilion area? I would think they would help you figure it out, like PPs have said. Does the church have a really good sized parking lot? You could use sidewalk chalk to mark off a section for the dance floor and have the dj set up beside it. Smaller tents like that, or patio covers, do not have to be super expensive. Maybe you could talk the church into taking care of this, then they would own them and be able to use them for other events? These could be anchored (kind of rigged) with a long spike driven into the ground, if you have someone handy who could help! Good luck, hun!!Wedding Ceremony and reception 1
