Wedding Ceremony Script

Susan, on January 6, 2018 at 12:12 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 10

Hey Guys,

My FH and I decided on having a family member officiate the wedding. I've googled and googled and I'm still currently in search of a good Wedding Ceremony Script Outline. We are NOT religious by any means, we do not want to do any candle lighting or sand mixing. We want a romantic but very short ceremony, maybe 15 minutes at the most. We also want our Officiant to add a bit of humor in. Also any ideas on non religious vows that will be short? I'm afraid if its too long I wont be able to say them through my ugly cry face. Can anyone help me out by giving me a good outline for the script?

Have you tried Off Beat Bride? Or Pinterest? Those may have scripts. Also try the knot.

H and I were in a similar boat. I wrote the whole ceremony myself, pulling pieces I liked from stuff I read online. Then H and our officiant both have their feedback and we edited as needed.

You don't need to find a full script somewhere, just save the bits you like from stuff you read and then figure out how to turn that into something you like.

Snippet & Ink has a ton. My fiancée and I read through a bunch them, then we went to a bar and basically outlined the script over a couple of cocktails. Our ceremony should be no more than 18 minutes including the procession and recessional.

We didn’t script it down to every single word- we left some space for our officiant to be creative. The statement of intent was easy to write, but for the vows we each went off and spent a few days to write. Then we came back together and pieced some short vows together that reflected our relationship and our venue.

It was a fun process, we just handed off the entire script to our friend who is officiating for him to work on it. However, we don’t want to see what he comes up with ahead of time.
