Wedding color palette: Black & Gold or Gray & White?

ReadytoWed, on January 24, 2017 at 11:46 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

Looking for some feedback on what you guys think for wedding colors.

We're having a late summer wedding in the afternoon/ evening in a ballroom with a HUGE gold chandelier in the middle. I had been thinking about black linens, gold chargers, black napkins, and white centerpieces/flowers and candles but am now thinking it may be too dark seeing as we don't have any drapery around the room itself. I am now thinking about more of a charcoal gray with white (charcoal linens, clear chargers with silver beads, white napkins with white flowers) as it will brighten up the room a bit. Which would you go for ?

I would go for the one on the left. Only because the room will be dark enough im sure. Plus you dont want it to be to "gloomy" looking.

K uhm. Can I ask something? I'm recently engaged & I clearly think I'm in over my head. I know nothing about weddings. Never even been to one. So I just would like to know what is a charger? Smiley smile

@Jamie (the nice plates that you don't eat off of Lol) In these photos the gold plates and the clear plates with the beads on the silver table.

I would go for the first one if it would brighten the room up

I would also go for the grey and white! I think black is too dark for a wedding.... but just my opinion... I don't think i even have "colors" jaja ...we're doing all white in a garden with dark wood tables... so i guess greenery white and wood would be my "colors" LOL

I was in a black and gold wedding and it was gorgeous. However, the venue was an historic building full of marble, gold leaf, and black accents, so the color choices were perfect.

I like the black and gold idea. Maybe you could do gold tablecloths or add a gold runner to the tables to brighten up the room a bit. The other pic is beautiful too.

I love the gray and white! We'll be doing something similar with metallic accents and a deeper gray.
