wedding color regret?

Elizabeth, on January 23, 2017 at 10:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 31

I am still in the very early stages of planning, I have a while before the wedding. I'm trying to decide on wedding colors, and I'm pretty dead seat on a Merlot/ burgundy color with some gold and blush. But, will I still love these colors closer to my wedding??

Has anyone ever regretted their color schemes they picked?

I think it's a great color scheme. I definitely would have gone with those colors if we had chosen a fall date!

I think that if you love them now. You'll pretty much love them then. And worst case scenario, you don't love them at your wedding. But you'll have spend so much time on them, they'll still look beautiful. And do colors really matter when you are marrying your best friend? Smiley smile

This was my color scheme until our date changed from a Fall Wedding to summer (due to venue availability). I LOVE these colors and feel they are so timeless, but I decided to go coral and gold to embrace the summery colors

Great colors but you definitely have time to change your mind if you want later!

My wedding isn't until November and I'm set on my colors, which are the same ones you're using. I'm going with marsala, navy blue and gold.

I may be super partial, but those were my colors. I loved them. But I agree with others, I didn't solidify it until I had a venue just in case those clashed for some reason.

I don't think I will change my mind since I'm not willing to spend another dime on decor.

Those are my colours as well. I'm feeling the same way as well. I think as we do more planning and things begin to tie together we will be fine

Thanks Ladies, You have all made me feel better about my choice, I'm just SO indecisive. I want to start buying a few things here and there for some diy center piece projects.

I think you should wait a year before you make any permanent decisions on decor

I had some color regret....OK, not so much color regret, as I realized my invitations were more light blue and lavender instead of mint and lavender. Not a huge deal though...if I really wanted to "fix" it, I'd just need to buy a new can of spray paint to redo part of my centerpieces. Instead I just decided to add the color and realized that most guest won't even notice because light blue and mint are super close and complementary.

My point is...for the most part, it's pretty easy to change a few things around if need be. Especially because you won't be buying bridesmaids dresses until you're less than a year out (because a lot can change between now and then) and I feel like once you select the bridesmaid dresses, that color is set in stone.

You still have time. Plus, you can always add or make slight changes as you go along.

To prevent this don't buy anything yet. Start pinning and saving links for now.

I haven't, I'm 90% set on my colors but I'm not planning on buying anything for a few months. But I will say, the original color scheme I wanted totally clashed with the venue I picked out so I changed it. So make sure it goes with your venue if you haven't picked one out yet!

ETA @Vicki gahhh I love that color scheme!!

@future thanks!! My MOH and my jr bm (goddaughter) are wearing blush, my four BMs are wearing the Marsala/wine color (whatever long dresses they want from azazie) with gold/champagne accents and dresses (more inspiration attached) Smiley smile

Those are really pretty colors, but I think it's tough to really know your colors until you pick your venue. Did you pick your venue yet? I think once that's selected, and you know the colors go, then you'll be fine.

These are my colors as well except my accent color is navy blue instead of blush. I love them! Everyone I tell about our colors, loves them too. They are classic fall wedding colors.
