wedding color regret?

I am still in the very early stages of planning, I have a while before the wedding. I'm trying to decide on wedding colors, and I'm pretty dead seat on a Merlot/ burgundy color with some gold and blush. But, will I still love these colors closer to my wedding?? Has anyone ever regretted their color...

Has anyone ever regretted their color schemes they picked?

I think those are beautiful colors! You don't need to decide yet which colors you are doing until about a year or so out. Google color schemes and decide which ones you love. I personally love the colors your chose!

I picked these too and loved them for our winter wedding...so I'm a bit biased ha. The flowers looked great with my white gown and matched well with pink roses and the bridesmaids wine colored dresses.

This is my venue, I plan on having drapery from the ceiling, and I'm going for a kinda romantic, rustic look?? Do you think that the colors are too dark to go with the wainscoting in the room?

@elizabeth no way, totally match the feel of the room. If you're worried about clashing I'd steer clear of browns..looks like that wall has a brown backsplash? Burgundy and wine would match well, but I think the brown might overwhelm the space if too heavily used. You can soften it up with creams and pale pinks too-that should break up the dark colors nicely in my opinion

Yeah it's like a wood paneling. I might go heavier on the lighter colors and then use the merlot color a little more sparingly.

I'm doing the same colors! Not going to lie though, sometimes I find myself thinking about switching the whole thing to Navy.

Agreed with the advice about waiting till closer to the wedding to buy color-related things.

I think the only reason you would ever *really* regret a color choice is if it ended up being distinctively unflattering for your or someone in your wedding party. If you think the colors are going to look good on the people who are wearing them, and you think they're pretty now, then it's low risk even if you think maybe you might have preferred something else slightly more.

Also, I think burgundy is a classic and looks good on everyone, so I'd feel pretty good about this choice Smiley smile

I think those colors are perfect for the room! Just use a light colored tablecloth to keep the room light. Also, I love your colors, but I'm partial because they are very similar to mine. I'm doing burgundy, blush, and cream with lots of greenery/fillers!

I also want to use a lot of greenery, I'm hoping it adds a fresher feel to everything!

Very pretty! I would add in the darker red to my wedding if it was in the fall.

That said, your wedding is so far out, you don't need to even think about this for a year! Beware that your tastes may change in that time, which is perfectly fine.

For example, I had always wanted certain colors, but over the last year I've seen so many weddings with them that I felt it was played out, and changed my colors!
