Wedding colors based on groom’s suit

SRD, on May 1, 2018 at 9:30 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14
Did you pick one of your wedding colors based on what color the groom’s suit will be? Originally my colors were burgundy, blush, creme and rose gold or gold. At the time I was still trying to decide on the last color. But then FH said he wants to wear a light grey suit. So now I am wondering if I should change the last color to light grey?

I don’t think you need to necessarily add light gray, you colors all go well with light grey in my opinion! My colors are blush, light aqua and creme (think champagne) and my FH wants a light grey suit as well. Sounds like yours will be beautiful, congrats!

Our tuxes are dark grey and the groomsmen have the wedding color tied in with the tie.

I didn't adjust any of my colors on the tux color.

Grey is a pretty neutral colour so i don't think you need to add it to your palette. our WP was all in shades of grey and we tied it together with ties and flowers (shades of pink and blush).

Your fh isn't a part of the decor. He doesn't need to match anything. Besides, grey is a neutral, it'll work with anything

Light gray will go lovely with the colors you have. I, personally, don't think you need to add light gray to your color scheme.

I picked my colors based on the time of year. Burgundy, navy, ivory and champagne felt "right" for a Sept. wedding. FH will be wearing a navy blue suit, but we have contemplated light grey as well. I think your current colors would go great with light grey, so I don't think you need to change a thing.

My colors are burgundy, blush, crème and gold. My FH would like to wear a dark grey suit or light grey. The only thing I'm going to add is a matching burgundy tie. I feel like grey is neutral so you should be good!

Light grey is a neutral color. Suits don’t need to match your color scheme, they just need to be cohesive with the rest of your colors! When people choose black suits/tuxes they don’t add black to their wedding colors! I think light grey would be really nice with the colors you already have.

Are you going to add white as one of your colors since you're wearing white? I'm guessing probably not! Just another way to think about it Smiley smile

Yes, we did. We originally had blush and tan as our wedding colors, since FH wanted to wear a tan suit. He changed it to light gray, so now our colors are blush and light gray/silver. But, I agree with others that gray is a neutral color and doesn't necessarily need to be a part of the color scheme.

Grey is my favorite color so I think it would be awesome! FH is wearing Navy and that will be part of our color scheme. It's up to you. If you would like to include it (I think it would look nice together) go for it! If not, I think it's fine. It's not like he's going to be in neon green out of no where.

I choose the colours based on what FH wanted to wear. I choose dark red, white and champagne because he chose black. If he went with royal blue or light grey then I wouldn't have gone with dark red for my bridesmaids. I would have chosen like a nude colour or peach colour for them.

If you are putting your bridesmaids in blush or rose it will look nice with the light grey. Creme colour is also nice with light grey. I find the burgendy stands out too much in the pictures because the bride is in white and the groom with the groomsmen are in light grey. You can have burgendy as an accent in your decor if you really want the colour.

Grey goes with anything. I think it will look nice with your colors.

We chose our wedding colors knowing he would either be in dark grey or black, both of which will go with anything. Our colors are wine, grey, with copper and rose gold accents.

This is my opinion but yet you can do what’s best for the both of you two. With your colors the tan/beige color suit would blend in better because of your burgundy, creme, rose gold & gold colors.
My colors are Royal Blue, Silver & white so my FH decided on Gray suits for him & his groomsmen but just light & dark so he can stand out from the rest. So my MH is wearing gray & bridesmaids Royal blue.
You can look on Pinterest for ideas of what suit color would blend in nicely. Good luck!
