Wedding Colors - Help!

Bella, on February 26, 2021 at 2:58 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 11
Hi all!

How did everyone create and finally settle on their wedding colors? I'm VERY color challenged and can't choose a combination to save my life. All we know is we want purples and navy blue but I feel like there needs to be some neutral colors? I can't even choose a proper shade of greenery! Is there someone I can hire for this?!

I literally looked on Pinterest at different color palettes and brought them to my husband. We both said which ones we liked them we chose one!

Do a search on Pinterest for color palettes and find something both of you love.

My FH picked his favorite color, I picked one of my favorite colors (that complemented his), and that was the extent of it.

I'm a fan of using photography to inspire - lots of websites that will help you in this regard.

Just a quick search in navy blues and I found this, which has a few shades of purple and a cool steel grey: https://color.romanuke.com/czvetovaya-palitra-4231/

I saw you are getting married in November, so I figured I'd also throw in this: https://color.romanuke.com/czvetovaya-palitra-4219/ (another quick search) - gives you a nice cream color as well.

You might find a combination you love by perusing like this, so jus click around a bit.

What about grey or even white/beige as the neutral color?

We chose purple as our color since that's our college color (where we met), but white and gold are really our main decor colors. We prefer silver, but our venue's chairs are gold so we felt obligated to go with gold accents to match. FH and the groomsmen are wearing gray suits with purple ties and pocket squares.

I knew I wanted navy as a color, but to fill in the others I looked at Pinterest and just talked with my sister! She helped me decide on adding copper as our accent color/metal since I didn’t want silver, gold, or even rose gold. The other colors in our palette were grey, sage, ivory, and wood accents.

Don’t overthink it — just look around and see what you gravitate towards!

Pinterest has been my go to for anything wedding related. My fiancé is a firefighter so we absolutely had to have those colors. Red & charcoal with creams to soften it up.

You can look on Pinterest or Google Images for color combos. Purple and blue is a pretty combo! Already a few options with those (pastels or bold).

We chose our palette based on our theme and what colors already played well with our venue.

No advice because I am struggling too!
I kinda want fall colors, and no pastels for sure. FH is wearing a dark gray suit so...I’m just looking around LOL

Ohmygoodness! I was the same way! Pinterest searches helped me find the perfect color palette. For neutrals, creams or grays might be good. I guess it depends on whether you’re looking for a cool or warm palette, though. Maybe you can both sit down and look through Pinterest together? See if anything piques your interest?
