Hi everyone. I’m going a little crazy here. My decor is white, gold, and teal (pictured above). My grooms suit swatch came in today and it’s not the right color. My bridesmaids match a bit better. But I’m having a hard time picturing all of these colors the day of. Will it look bad? Should we look for other suits? It’s such a difficult color to find. So many colors look too navy and we need a TEAL suit. Any idea on decor the day of? Will it look okay?

I think it's great. No one cares if the groom's suit matches the bridesmaids or the linens. Shades of teal is still teal! What is the black suit for?

Hey there! There's a few things you could do here. First, how set you are on a teal suit? You could opt for a black, grey, or white suit that would be a neutral and take out the color of the groom's suit from the mix. Does the place you ordered the bridesmaids dresses offer matching ties/ bow ties? That could be an option to bring the colors closer to matching.

If you are really set on the teal suit, you could try to see if there's another place offering a color closer to what you're looking for.

You can also try looking at the different swatches from a distance and a bit apart. Up close and right by each other the difference can be picked out, but far away and separate they may not look so different. The groom will be far enough from the bridesmaids that the colors would be hard to compare without factoring in the lighting, different fabrics, etc. on top. During the reception, there's usually lighting that will cause even colors that match perfectly to look a shade or so different. Also, I doubt any of your guests will be taking napkins up to your groom to weigh the difference lol.

Since white and gold are both pretty neutral, I don't think a few different shades of teal would throw off the balance if you decide to stick with everything pictured though.

I think these will look great together! They all appear to be the same hue, just a slight variation in tint and shade. The hue (base color) is what is most important to match so one color does not stand out looking too blue or too green.

Is the black suit swatch for your fiancé or are the groomsmen wearing both teal and black?

I actually like that there's a little variation. You might actually want it to be even more varied??? What about going even lighter with the table linens and napkins???

Haha no, I want more consistency! My partners suit is just so sad and I was worried it all had to match. But the more I look at it, the more I love it. So no worries anymore Smiley smile

Okay! I was nervous it would look bad. But you’re are right, it looks good. I think I just needed to be away from the colors for a bit. I love it and love the black contrast.

If it's just a teal tie, it shouldn't be a problem at all. For every color, every different manufacturer is going to be a slightly different color.

Those are beautiful together! Can you embrace the “moody blue” color palette in a few other areas so it looks intentional and cohesive? Cake, wedding invites, table settings? Like this:
