Wedding Dance Floor Alternatives

I am trying to cut costs and look for alternatives to wedding dance floor rentals for my backyard wedding. The area that we will be dancing is stone paved and uneven and I wonder even if a dance floor would really be the right way to go due to the uneven floor. Also, I could use the mat in my home gym after instead of just renting it. Regardless of the motivation, just thought I'd throw out there that I was looking into rubber mats, there are rubber mats for gyms, for horses stalls, even for tap dancing or ballet dancing! Has anyone ever done this or looked into it? What do people think?
