Wedding Dances

When doing father/bride mother/son dances, is it weird to have the groom dance with his own mother instead of the brides mother?

I don't think I've ever seen the groom dance with the MOB unless MOG had passed. My H didnt dance with my mom at the wedding.

I haven't seen a mother of the bride dance with the groom unless his own mother was not there. My brother danced with our step-mom.

I've always seen grooms dance with their mother. I did go to a wedding in Dec. and the groom danced with the MOB instead but only because his mother is located out of the country and could not attend the wedding.

The mother/son dance is usually between the groom and his own mother. I have 3 daughters and I didn't dance with the groom at any of the weddings.

That’s what the mother/son dance is.

Thisis exactly what the mother/son dance is for. Why would he dance with your mom?

It's traditional to have the bride dance with her father, and the groom dance with his mother. I've never seen inlaws included.

Why would the groom be dancing with the bride's mother? I think you have it backwards.

I’ve never seen the groom dance with the bride’s mom. Even at the weddings I’ve attended where the groom’s mother wasn’t in the picture or had passed away, the groom danced with an aunt or grandmother or sister.

That’s what he should do. He doesn’t dance with the MOB.

The groom dances with his mom and the bride dances with her father.

Not weird at all, I am having my fiance dance with his mother as long as she is still alive come the wedding (her health is seriously going downhill sadly) but if she is not, he will dance with my mother.
