Wedding date keeps changing!!

Amber, on March 13, 2017 at 2:28 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I'm sick of plans changing -_- originally we wanted to get married on June 28 - the day we met. Then he got offered the chance to intern at the college he's going to which is earning him $16 an hour and will help place him in a job after, but would mean he graduated later. Couldn't really turn that down, moved the date to August 5. Fast forward: with that date we would have no honeymoon, the week we had scheduled was an absolutely mandatory teacher work week. Decided we could move it up a day and at least have a weekend away, but we still weren't happy with it. Finally he was able to talk to his professors, I was able to talk to my boss, and we have it nailed down (I hope Smiley xd) to July 28! I'm so glad I hadn't ordered invitations before all this happened. Rearranging everything else has been enough of a nightmare Smiley tongue Has anyone else gone through something similar? I want to sympathize with you and know I'm not alone Smiley xd

Do you have a venue booked?

How do you keep moving it around with your venue - and all your other vendors - this close to the wedding?

I'm having my wedding at my church, thankfully they did not have much scheduled for the summer months. It was an absolute miracle that all my vendors were able to rearrange for me and it all worked out! I felt so bad changing so often on them but didn't really have much of a choice.

Try not to freak out too badly, my date keeps changing too...we were planning a really traditional wedding at the end of this year, when we decided to change our plans and get married on a tall ship in February....then it was going to be April...then back to February...now it looks like we might push back to next September. It's absolutely maddening and of course I can't nail down any other vendors until we have a date actually reserved.

So....I feel for you. I've been in touch with a photographer that I REALLY like, but can't put down a deposit. Ditto a caterer for the ship. ARGH. Good luck to you both, keep us posted!

I didn't have this problem but I understand how hard it can be to work a wedding around school. I got accepted into my master program the week after we booked the venue. So were postponing our honeymoon 3 weeks until after I finish school for the semester.

@Nikki, I have no plans of changing my date again lol, too much hassle! School and work conflicts aren't exactly minor issues sadly

Our date changed about 6 different times before we were able to settle things down. Ultimately, whenever you decide will turn into a date that is special for you and your FH for many years to come!

I had to change my date about 4 times the venue i we chose was booked every day we wanted. My FH wanted to leave for our honeymoon soon after the wedding so every day we picked that was the Saturday before the cruise just so happened to be booked at the venue. Finally we agreed upon a date that worked for us which was 3 months sooner than the original.
