Wedding date same as engagnement??

Nicole, on January 26, 2018 at 8:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 31
Hi I need some opinions please!! (: So my fiancé and I got engaged March 21, 2016. We are getting married in 2020. I just noticed that March 21, 2020 is a Saturday. Would it be weird to get married then because we got engaged on the same day? Or who cares? I don’t know if I’m thinking to much into it.

Yeah, I think you're looking too far into it. If anything, I think it's really cute.

I don't think anyone will care or notice. I doubt many people will remember the exact date you got engaged except you and your FH.

It wouldn't be weird if that's when you want to get married. Would you otherwise wait until 2020 to get married? I think it would be a little weird to wait 2 more years to get married just to get married on the same day you got engaged.

I think your thinking into it too much. Lots of people pick significant days to get married, like their first date, or the date they officially started dating, I don't see why the day you got engaged would be any different.

Overthinking for sure, the only people who will remember are you and FH. It makes your wedding date that much more special!

I think it's cute! We were going to go with our original anniversary but the only affordable place we found was already booked so we decided it was OK to move it to the next month and celebrate twice.

Definitely overthinking it. I think that's cute IF it can work out, but I'd never push my wedding out 4 years from my engagement just to get married on a particular date. You're probably the only one who will care about this, so I'd really think if you want to wait that long. It's already been almost 2 years that you're engaged, unless you have other reasons for waiting so long.

Thank you guys. I’m definitely going to stop
overthinking and just go with it. And just to clear things up I’m not waiting until 2020 just for that date, it just happened to work out lol. We decided to wait that long, so we can save.

It sounds like they were already looking at 2020 and it just happens to work out for the date. If it's important to you, it's sweet, but not something anyone else will care about.
I think it's different than people who will only get married on their anniversary, whether it's a Wednesday morning or Christmas Eve, and guest inconvenience be damned.

Our date is 9/22 also! We didn't get engaged on that date but our wedding day will be our 10 year dating anniversary! We weren't trying to do that but love that it happened organically.
