How did you all choose your wedding dates? Is there a special significance (such as, a dating anniversary)? Or did you know what season and venue you wanted, and determined the specific date based off of what the venue and/or desired vendors had available? Did cost play a factor in how you picked...

My husband and I chose our original date of July 31, 2020, since it was exactly halfway in between our birthdays, and it happened to fall on a Friday (we specifically wanted a Friday wedding)! However, once we postponed due to COVID, we chose our new date of July 29, 2022 based on the Friday that was closest to July 31.

Share your wedding date and how you and your partner selected it!

We met on a Godzilla Discord and then met in real life at a convention and hit things off from there. We were long distance for a while, but last summer he moved from southern Illinois to Michigan. We were both fans since childhood though.

Very cool! That's awesome that you met through one of your shared interests. A convention is a good place to meet in person for the first time! My husband and I both also live in Michigan, though I'm originally from Illinois, and we met through one of our shared interests after I had moved, so we were never long distance.

We were trying to choose between October 7th and November 11th. We got engaged on 11/11, it's a holiday weekend, and will fall on a Saturday. It was very tempting but we ultimately chose October 7th for being warmer and having a longer day with more sunlight. Plus it's also a holiday weekend. It's already making wedding planning easier, but the 11th would have been nice too. I think any day I marry him will be great.

I really like your statement that "any day I marry him will be great"! That's a wonderful attitude to have. Glad to hear that the date you chose seems to be working out well so far! What's next on your wedding planning to-do list?
