Wedding day details

Jane, on March 7, 2021 at 2:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi!

My wedding day is coming up in less than 6 months and we're almost done with planning everything. Our ceremony will be at a Church so we're not planning too much on it, and our reception venue takes care of catering, food, tables and chairs (which is really helpful!!)

Even though we are almost done with everything, we still think we need a day-of coordinator... The one I contacted, which has great reviews, is charging $3000 dollars at my city... Is it a normal range??

I feel like we only need the day-of coordinator to help us sort things out smoothly on the wedding day, like contacting shuttle buses company is the only thing we're worried about (we're having buses to drive everyone up to reception and back to city, but really worried drivers showing up late etc..)

Other than that, our florist, cake vendor, DJ are really close to reception venue so they will contact our venue planner during wedding day.

I'm in Boston area, but if you know any day-of coordinator in the city or in New England please let me know!!

One more unrelated question... who's helping brides to change into reception dress (if they have one)? I'm changing into reception dress, but I'm worried my bridesmaids will be too drunk to help me fold/put away my wedding dress and veil (they are really big and long so I definitely need help getting out of the wedding dress)

$3k is full planning from beginning to end, not day of. Take a look at Instagram, Yelp, Thumbtack.com.

Talk that over with your coordinator.

That sounds pretty expensive. Something around $1000-$1500 since you’re in a HCOL would probably be more normal

I'll echo Michelle - that price would be for a planner and is too high for just a DoC, even in a HCoL area. I'd say to check out Thumbtack and look around for other options.
