Wedding Day Importance

Not to be a bridezilla or sound like one but I'm getting a little annoyed that people find other things more important than someone's wedding. When it comes to graduation or a birthday or another wedding I understand completely but like if its a race that happens every year or a holiday or even the fact of whether or not there will be alcohol there. It drives me a little crazy knowing someone thinks that a family member getting married for the first time is less important than these other yearly occasions. (Also the race im referring to is the Indy 500, so if you're from Indiana you know)

Is anyone else feeling this way? Or annoyed about these things?

Maybe it's tradition for them? Maybe they don't see your wedding as being less important - some people are just very heavy on traditions.

I know it sucks, but either way you'll have a great time. Enjoy your wedding with the people who come to celebrate with you ❤️

You have to remember, while your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life, it’s just another day for guests (family or otherwise). Just enjoy being with the people who will be there.

Like Nicole said, focus on those who can celebrate with you that day. If you focus on who can't make it and why, you'll drive yourself crazy. Some people just don't enjoy weddings; it doesn't mean they aren't truly happy for you.

I like what Nicole said! i do see your point though because a wedding is literally just one day only so it's not like you will ever have another one. but to some people it's just an event and so unfortunately there's not that large of an importance to them.

Yes, I find myself getting annoyed at people for having other obligations that day because we sent out Save the Dates almost a year in advance. That being said, as Nicole said, it's just another event to most of them, so something else might take precedence in their lives over a wedding day. Just how it is, and you have to enjoy it with the people who are there! You won't be the one missing out!

Focus on the ones who want to be there. Not everyone places the same importance on events you do and vice versa.
