Wedding Day Nails?

Kim, on July 25, 2019 at 7:07 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 14
To my fellow brides in the medical field who keep their nails short, how are you doing your nails for the big day? I almost never get my nails done, and just paint them myself when I need to. Thanks!

Are you taking any time off work after the wedding? If not, I would probably do a gel or dip powder nail with no tip. I don't think adding a tip or doing acrylics would be worth the damage for one day. If you are going on a honeymoon or taking time off after, it would be worth it if you're going for a longer nail.

I'm not in the medical field, but I still keep my nails pretty short. I'm going to do a test run sometime soon, but assuming that goes well I plan to just do a gel manicure - no acrylics or tips. I've never had fake nails and honestly I think they'd drive me crazy, so simpler is better for me.

I’m a paramedic, And keep my nails short for work! Have you ever seen the Impress brand fake nails? You can find them pretty much anywhere (most drugstore, Walmart, ulta). They’re SUPER simple!! They’re stick on nails that look like acrylics, and are pre-painted! They’re easy, affordable, and you can take them off after your event. I use them every single time we have to fancy up for anything (weddings/banquets/photos). I did them in the car on the way to the last wedding we attended!! I plan on getting a manicure with no paint the day before the wedding, to clean everything up, and then doing those with half my girls who have the same issue the morning of the wedding.

Yes, I will have a few days off after the wedding. I am not really into fake nails (that's the acrylics, right?), so gel or dip powder may be a good option. Thanks!

I love the Impress nails when my nails are broken or different lengths. They really last too. I'd recommend checking them out and trying them over a weekend or sometime that you don't have work and see if you like the feel and look of them.

I've never had fake nails either and I know that would feel so weird. And I have small and skinny nails, I'm sure it would look off lol.

I HATE acrylics. Between the cost, and the time spent getting them done, and the damage to your real nails I’m just not a fan! And I can’t worn in them because they drive me nuts. I love the inpress ones because you get the look without all of that. They cost like $7/8, and last time I took them off the day after the event. My own nails are really weak and break easily, so they’re never the same length, and they are always really short. So I don’t like how they look painted, and I’m terrible at doing them myself. So the impress ones are perfect for me because it’s essentially just peel and stick, they stay on well when you want them to, but come off easily without damage!!

I'm not in the medical field but I am an artist and I lift weights daily. Long nails are basically a lost cause on me lol. I did a no chip manicure and had my nails natural (as in, not longer than my fingertips) length. I kept it neutral as well so I didn't have to change the color or feel ridiculous wearing fancy nails for 3 more weeks.

I am a nurse and I generally keep my nails very short and unpolished. I have been just letting them grow out and keeping them filed. I am off two days before so Im planning on getting ANC rather then acrylics, and I will just remove it after my honeymoon.
