Who is getting married in May 2022? I just realized that May 8, 2022 is mother's day...I was thinking of getting married on Saturday May 7, 2022...the day before mother's day...What do you think...is that a good day or not?

Oh wow. Our date is May 7, 2022, and until just now none of us realized that the next day is Mother’s Day!

We are getting married the day before Mother's Day this year. You may find that florist expenses are higher than normal, due to very high demand for flowers that weekend. Other than that, it has not been an issue for us at all. We are hosting a Mother's Day brunch the following morning with our families and any out-of-town guests so they still have an opportunity to celebrate together. We will be giving all of the moms at the brunch a small gift and corsage.

Not a problem at all! We’re getting married on 4/3/21-we didn’t realize that Easter is the next day!

We are getting married 5/1 this year. I was originally interested in the next weekend, and I did realize it was Mother's Day. I didn't think it was a big deal, but when I told my mom and family that that was our top pick date, everyone thought it wouldn't be a good idea. A lot of people have Mother's Day weekend traditions and they thought it would be best to avoid it. The date didn't have any special meaning to us and we booked so early that we could pick any day, so I didn't mind moving. But just know that some people might decline if they have Mother's Day traditions. Plus, after thinking more about it, if you have kids you will have a combined Mother's Day and Anniversary. Which could be a good or bad thing!

My fiancé’s grandmother was the only one that seemed to have an issue with it but then once we explained that she would have all four of her kids in one room at the same time for the first time in years she calmed down about it. We think it’s a nice tribute in a way to our mothers as well.

I like the date and frankly I won’t be upset if people don’t come because its money back in my pocket!

I honestly didn't realize it until I went to book the venue and the coordinator was like "that's the day before mommy's day!" But I haven't had much trouble. The only thing is the moms in my family and his want to gather the next day while everyone is in town for a brunch. I'm not sure if anyone's going to want to get up for that 😁. But it sounds nice.
