Wedding decor. How to hang decorations damage free.

Rachael, on August 7, 2019 at 2:09 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8
My venue doesn’t allow nails, thumb take or anything that will leave marks or leave damage. How would you hang your decorations. We want to hang lights but I’m unsure how to do this without using nails. Suggestions please!

They may allow for those command strips that have the hooks on them. But your best bet is to just ask your venue. It would be awful to get a bill after the wedding for damage or a breech of contract over something like this.

I love Command hooks! They work great. Also, velcro with sticky backing, if you're hanging on wood or another hard surface. It will not work on drywall or wallpaper.

If you're talking about string lights like Christmas lights, 3M makes command hooks specifically for that! They're completely clear, and have a kind of cupped hook that you can clip the strand into. We have them on the pillars outside our house to use for holiday lights and they're great.

I like what the PpS suggested with command hooks. Hopefully that will work with your venue. I know for me they didn't allow me to even have tape on the walls

My venue won’t even allow Command hooks for some reason! I just don’t get it. “Sticky tack or painters tape only” and they specifically wrote no command hooks! Can they still damage walls or something? I thought their little jingle was “Deck the halls without wrecking your walls”

We bought so many command strips to decorate my friend's zoo wedding so we didn't damage anything. they're easily hidden and functional. love them!

The reason command hooks are not allowed at some places, is because you have to remove them properly in order for them to not cause damage. I have had many first hand experiences with family and friends where the strips were removed incorrectly....it can remove paint, wallpaper and even damage drywall Smiley sad
