Wedding Decor

Hi everyone! I’m so torn because I found a venue that my fiancée and I both love. They have everything we wanted, BUT I don’t like the carpeting in the ballroom. It is a dark blue with gold but I’m afraid my wedding decor is not going to match because my colors are mauve and light pink. I want to do runners going across the center of the tables that hang over that are mauve in color. I’m afraid it’s going to clash. What does everyone think? I’ve attached the actual carpeting of the venue. The dance floor is your typical dark wood dance floor. I also attached how I want my tables to be. Wedding Decor 1

I actually said no to a venue we checked out because the ceremony space had orange carpet. That wasn't the only problem with the venue, but I couldn't get over the orange. The carpet in your picture doesn't look that bad, though; I like the fleur de lis pattern. Mauve and blue don't necessarily clash, and maybe you could bring in hints of blue with other décor elements. Go with your gut and don't settle, but overall I think that space could work with your color scheme.

I think it'll look good. You'll be the only one that notices the carpet I think.

Would you be using the space during the day or during the evening? At night you could use colored uplighting to draw the focus away from the carpet. That being said, I don't think the carpet clashes. Mauve and blush are paired with navy a lot, and the table inspo picture you posted even has blue candles. Personally, I think it looks great together! Would you be opposed to adding in navy as a color to your overall color scheme? Gold is more of a neutral as well, so you could work that in with vases, flatware, etc. if you really want to try to tie it together.

If the carpet is really going to bother you, you could always look for another place, and you could even ask to put a soft hold on that venue space while you look.

    I found this on Pinterest

I think it’ll actually look pretty. It’ll help balance out the light pink and mauve colors.

I actually don't think it'll look bad. We have a mauve purple color as one of ours and I did consider navy suits for the guys with it. We have gold chiavari chairs at the venue, so it would have ended up being a similar color scheme.

Also I agree with a PP that you will likely be the only one who notices the carpet. I can't tell you what the flooring of any weddings I've been to has been (other than one that was outside in a tent)
