Wedding deposit and hearing back from venue

Paige, on January 17, 2022 at 3:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hello everyone! I was wondering if I’m being high strung or if I should feel a little annoyed at this point. I put my deposit down (3500) for my venue about a month ago and still have heard nothing back. No finalized contract, no coordinator appointed yet or further details or someone to discuss them with and our wedding is only 7 1/2 months away.

Have you reached out to them about this recently? If you've emailed them, try a phone call or even an in-person visit if possible. You should definitely at least have a signed contract if you paid the deposit. Do you have a copy of the contract that you signed (even if it doesn't have their signature on it yet)?

I have reached out and they told me I’d be assigned and having the finalized contract back last week and still nothing. I don’t know what to tell my dj as far as their set up and break down time I don’t know where to tell them they have access to get their stuff in and out of the building. I was hoping to use their florist. But am not assigned a coordinator yet to get me set up with all this stuff and I’m 71/2 months away so I just feel a little panicked.

I would definitely reach out to them again to remind them that you still haven't received the finalized contract, and ask for an estimate of when you'll get it. Let them know that you're trying to coordinate with your vendors on timing, and need the finalized venue contract before that can occur. You could also list the questions about vendor access in your email to the venue. If you don't get a response to that email, try calling them or visit in person if possible.

It could possibly be a lag due to the Christmas/New Year period that they are still catching up on correspondence. I would suggest sending another email and following up with a phone call a few days later - I wouldn't panic just yet but chasing them is definitely the next course of action.

Thank you so much’ I guess I’m just frustrated because I’ll ask them about something and god forbid they answer the first time. But eventually they’ll answer and tell me a few days or They told me I’d be assigned a coordinator last week and I never heard a thing.

Call them this week and ask what the status is. I know it feels like everything is coming at you quickly, but I promise 7 1/2 months is a long time (I was engaged a total of 6 months and 1 day - it's longer than it feels) - and your DJ doesn't need to know about access to the venue until closer to time. You'll be able to get your flowers figured out. Try not to stress too much - but definitely chase them down - especially about the coordinator. They may have assigned you someone and he/she has the flu or something, but you definitely want that information sooner than later.
