So we did diy everything. All our decor, centerpieces, favors ceremony arch. Everything but the flowers we did ourselves. I would break it up into small doable items and do just a little thing every weekend. So make a list of everything and then do it by weeks up to the wedding and break it down from there. It made it so much more manageable! I found something I liked on Pinterest then I would try to find it on Etsy and see if they posted the items, sizes, or extra details which helped up copy something.

I see, thank you for that! I find us jumping from one thing to the next then back so it seems a little stressful right now lol. But I will definitely take that into consideration! We’re using Pinterest as well- for ideas Smiley smile

I was doing the same thing and trying to get so much done all at once. If you break it down into smaller tasks you can jump from one to another without feeling so overwhelmed. Step 1 done for this project and then jump to step 2 of another. Keeping track of it makes it so much more less stressful! I was losing my mind the first couple months of diy until I changed to that

Depending on the size of your wedding, if money matters, do a little long term thinking. Vases on pinterest that are one of a kind, in your peach and blue colors, may never be used again. If you spent 8 dollars on a ceramic vase, and about $3 each to paint and glaze each, you now have 15 nice ceramic vases, for $165. When is the next time you will use more than 4, with that color scheme? But if you use glass vases you can buy by the case, or glass jars with covers, decorative, clear and sparkly, For $3-5 you can reuse them in your home for years. At half the price. A plant nursery specialist friend on maternity leave did flowering plants for us for each table. And field grown cut flowers in large glass vases ( really,64 oz apothecary jars.). The plants, at base, were covered with leftover quilting fabric close in color to the table cloths. It was not until after transplanting the flowers into our garden or hers, that we discovered under the cloth we had 1 quart, 1.5, and 2 pyrex rectangular loaf pans for breads, meatloaf, pound cakes ,casseroles. Started with 16, have 15 left in use 14 years later. They cost under $3 each. Not a single planter the size for a table cost less than 10 when we looked. The apothecary jars are still my cannisters for flour, sugar beans etc. Glass, and shiny things, go with everything. So if keeping prices down, or reusing that stuff you paid for, matters to you, don't fall for the old decorators trick of thinking 21 unique things, each pricey, are necessarily better than something less original. Things that won't be used more than once should be the smallest group of things you spend time and money on.
    A couple of favorite vendors:

Be mindful of your skills and time. Are you naturally crafty and have a ton of time willing to donate? If so, then go for it. Are you lacking in the crafty skill arena? Utilize Etsy but make sure vendors are in the US.

DIY is not always cheaper because time and sanity are equal to money.
Check out the Dollar Tree for vases. Fiftyflowers.com for flowers (typically cheaper than silks/wood). Unscented candles can be purchased in bulk at walmart.com
Costco sells a ton of items including disposable plates/silverware. They have invite sets cheap.
If you are trying to save money, skip favors. Even if they're edible, they get left behind.

Thank you! I’ll keep my options open. I love DIY but it’s the time management & completion goals that we need to dig into hehe.

I did every single thing DIY for my wedding. I just looked on pintrest for ideas and ordered supplies. I ordered a lot of DIY supplies from Oriental trading and Micheal's when they had sales. I would do my DIYs on the weekends and after work. I had so much fun making everything. I made everything from the clay cake topper to the bouquets. All of my guest loved all my personal touches.

Oriental trading is having an end of the season sale on wedding supplies with stuff up to 70% off right now. They have a lot of great stuff!

I’d definitely use Pinterest to get ideas and kinda pick a theme. I didn’t do an arch, but made a few altar decorations, centerpieces, cake stand, and lanterns for my bridesmaids. I’d try to work on one project at a time, but make sure they tie together with similar colors and flowers.
