Wedding dreams?

Joanna, on February 9, 2020 at 12:01 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
I've been having wedding related nightmares at least once a week or so. I haven't really been stressed about planning; bridal party and our families have been so helpful, we've gotten so much done already, and FH has been so good and involved with a lot. But even though things have been going so well, I've been having bad dreams! Last night I dreamt that my FH broke up with me weeks before the wedding, and last week I dreamt that my makeup artist didn't show up. There's been more, but those are the ones I remember.
I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to make these dreams go away? I know I'm not in the same boat, as everyone I've talked to has had them before their wedding as well, but no one has found a solution. Help!

I've had a few! I also don't overall feel stressed but I've also found myself breaking out in hives when I think about the wedding. For me not looking at any wedding stuff online for a week helped and don't take any sleep meds if you have. I took melatonin a couple weeks ago and the dreams were crazy! Good luck!

I always feel like those dreams are related to things you're actually nervous about in real life

Wow, not looking at wedding stuff for a while might actually help. I look at these forums everyday! Thanks for this advice!

I've not been stressed with wedding planning either, so when I get these dreams, I just laugh the next day. The last one I had, I remember telling my FH in the dream that at least it wasn't the real wedding, so at least my subconscious knows they're not real. I've noticed that I have them on nights when I've been making some wedding decisions, so Melle may be onto something; is that the case with yours?

Recently engaged. Haven’t had a nightmare about wedding planning yet. But I’ve had a nightmare that my fiancé was trying to get me to break up with him, then randomly left me...this happened the same night I had a long convo with my sister about her break up THAT SAME night with her ex 😂 no fears of this happening in real life but I was able to laugh about after I realized it wasnt reality 😂

They only get worse as the date gets closer!!! 😂😂🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I've had so many, from being 10 hours late, to a dress alteration that went so wrong it's not even possible, to not even getting a marriage license and only remember the day after the wedding! I have no cure and if you find one let me know! I have limited stress about the wedding too, and I always laugh about how bad the nightmare really gets, like wouldnt even happen bad.

I haven't had any yet, but my FH had one last night. Apparently we were at the wrong venue, in the wrong colors, and doing the processional wrong. I think it's sweet that he cares enough that he's dreaming about it.
