Hi everyone! My name is Stacey! I’m getting married on Nov 3,2019. I bought my dress in Virginia because my sisters live there and I fell in love. Instead of getting fitted there I’m looking for a place in Manhattan, NY. Any tips, advice or places you ladies know I can go that would do dress alterations that I didn’t purchase from?

    Try and independent dressmaker or someone that alters costumes. They may be able to help you versus a shop that has their own alterations department.

    I would recommend you search for local dry cleaners, seamstresses and tailors with great reviews who also offer wedding dress services! Yelp is really helpful in these searches as there are typically a ton of reviews you can browse!

    Thank you everyone! I’m okay with going to Queens if needed. Smiley smile I just worry so much about getting my dress altered. I work in retail (I’m a store manager in Brooklyn) and my boss is giving me a hard time now on taking off to get anything done. Smiley sad
