Wedding dress and tattoo

Shannon, on August 27, 2019 at 7:46 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before. I love my back tattoo, it's a memorial piece for a good friend of ours who passed away. However, half of the tattoo is covered by the straps, the other part looks like a blob from the illusion back, and some is showing. So I'm not sure if that looks weird or not. I can't decide if I should just let it be, or try and add to the illusion to cover up the tattoo (second picture) since I will be taking off from the bottom of the dress and could possibly use that to save money, or use dermablend/other make up to try and cover it up. Thoughts/suggestions would be great!

I personally think it looks fine as is and people will be staring at you, not focused on a small tattoo on your back. But if you'd feel more comfortable doing something, I'd say try makeup first since I love the back of your dress as is!

I agree with Krissy!, I think it looks just fine as is. I dont feel it distracts from the beauty of the dress and its a part of who you are anyway. I second trying the makeup if you decide you'd rather it not be seen.

I have a shoulder tattoo and back tattoo which peek out of my dress and I am going to have them airbrushed out for the wedding.

I think it depends on how you are wearing you hair as well. Try the makeup option and see how you like it but i personally don't think its a big deal as far as guest. Just keep in mind if you are doing and photos that will show your back.

I think it’s part of you and I wouldn’t worry about it but if it bothers you see if you MUA can airbrush it. I love your dress!!

I also have a back tattoo and I’m leaving it as is. Most of my family is tattooed head to toe so it’s not a big deal to us. I think yours is fine especially since it has so much meaning to it

Dermablend. It stays. Kat von D also has a makeup line specific to covering tattoos.

I don't think you need to cover it, but those are my recommendations if you do.

Don't touch the beautiful back on the dress!

I'd leave it, it's a part of who you are. I'd also be worried about makeup rubbing off onto the dress, or just smearing in general.

I have covered my tattoo for several occasions. Dermablend body make up is MADE to cover severe marks and tats and is AMAZING. Sweatproof, long lasting, and doesn’t transfer. Mine lasted with dancing for an entire Army Ball (which are LONG).

I'm not covering my tattoos. It's part of who I am and, plus, everyone knows I have them anyway. I don't think your tattoo is an issue. I was too distracted staring at that gorgeous illusion back to even pay attention to the tattoo until I read your post!
