Wedding dress budget

Wedding, on August 20, 2023 at 4:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 6 99
My budget for my wedding dress is $500-$700. My friends said I was WAY UNDER BUDGET!! They were right, all the dresses I like begin at $900 not including alterations; with alterations, I'm looking at $1300- 1500!! I can't see myself paying for a dress ill have on for one day maybe 6hours. But might have to bite the bullet 🤔 😞. Any suggestions.

Check out websites like Azazie and LuLu’s. They have wedding dresses in your price range. You can also look for sample sales. My dress was a store sample, so it was 50% off and in good condition.

If you find a dress you like that's out of your budget, check to see if you can find a pre-owned dress of that same model! Often times, those dresses are still new with tags, where the previous owner either changed their mind on the dress, or maybe their wedding was cancelled, etc. Pre-owned dresses are typically cheaper than new (even if they still have tags on them). StillWhite, Poshmark, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace would all be good places to check. Also be on the lookout for sample sales from dress shops - those are also usually cheaper to buy than new dresses, and you'd get to take the dress with you that day. Azazie also has cheaper bridal dresses, and they have a program where you can try on the dress at home first before buying.

Etsy and Amazon.. I know it sounds crazy but they have amazing options for under your budget! My sister got her dress from Amazon for around $150! She ordered several, tried them on and then returned the ones she didn’t like. We still booked a fitting at David’s bridal for that whole dress shopping experience lol

Resale sites, sample sales, and my biggest tip is look at custom gowns!

I had a custom made, fully detailed ball gown (lots of layers, ruffles, and beading!) that I got from a trusted Etsy seller for 800. And it fit me perfectly! Saves a lot on alterations too Smiley smile

I second the custom route if you have a specific dress in mind. There are a lot of Etsy sellers who can work off a picture for a fraction of the cost. Just make sure you do your research and find a reputable seller (so check not just in here and the Etsy reviews, but also Reddit because there are very detailed threads about some of the sellers).

David’s bridal is going out of business! I bought my dress for 475$ originally over 2,000$!
I would definitely suggest going there!

I'm getting married in October. I bought my dress from a vendor on AliExpress for under $200. The quality is great, and delivery was within three weeks after cleared payment. They can accommodate an array of sizes as well as custom made sizes and colors. AliExpress have hundreds of vendors and every style of dress you can think of. Congratulations and best wishes on your dress journey!
